The cross wasn't an accident but God's intentional plan for redemption. Jesus offers us a relationship with specific terms: accepting his sacrifice that frees us from bondage, defeats spiritual powers, and gives us new identity as God's treasured possession. Through the new covenant, God writes his instructions on our hearts and forgives our sins completely. The Lord's Supper serves as a memorial meal that looks back to redemption and forward to God's kingdom. Following Jesus means drawing near to God personally, inviting others to his table, and building unity around Christ rather than division.
